Mosharraf Hossain tests positive for COVID-19
PBC news: Bangladesh Awami League presidium member and former minister, engineer Mosharraf Hossain, MP, has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Chattogram civil surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said that Mosharraf Hossain’s sample was sent to Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases in Chattogram on Thursday morning and the report came back positive on Thursday night.
The veteran parliamentarian is now undergoing treatment at Parkview Hospital in the city.
The hospital managing director ATM Rezaul Karim said that the politician was brought to the hospital at about 11:30pm on Thursday after testing positive for COVID-19.
His condition is now stable, he said, adding that doctors put him under observation as he had been suffering from various old age complications.
The 76-year-old politician is the president of the parliamentary standing committee on housing and public works ministry.
