Bangladesh home minister catches COVID-19 positive
Bangladesh Home affairs minister Asaduzzman Khan has been tested COVID-19 positive. The news has been confirmed from the home ministry. Besides him , senior secretary to the public security division of the ministry Mostafa also diagnosed with positive.
Both the minister and the secretary were in good health, confirmed the home ministry’s public relation officer Sharif Mahmud.
Asaduzzaman and Mostafa Kamal were now in isolation at their residences in the city, according to the PRO. With Asaduzzaman, at least eight Bangladeshi ministers have now been infected by the coronavirus.
Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Huq, Chittagong hill tracts affairs minister Bir Bahadur U Shwe Sing, environment, forest and climate change minister M Shahab Uddin, state minister for shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, information minister Hasan Mahmud, expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment minister Imran Ahmad earlier suffered from COVID-19.
State minister for religious affairs Sheikh Abdullah died of COVID-19 earlier in the year.
