NRB not to extend time to submit tax return !
National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem on Sunday said that , The deadline for income tax return submission will not be extended, said .
“Total 13.20 lakh tax returns were submitted till November 26 this year. Time for tax return submission will expire on Monday (November 30),” he said while addreesing a press briefing at the NBR head office at Segunbagicha in Dhaka.
He said those who are yet to file their income tax returns, can apply to the tax officials concerned for extension of time-limit. The two per cent fine here is not mandatory. The fine will be waived if the taxpayers show a valid reason behind it.
TIN holders will have to submit their income tax returns by Monday. Otherwise, they will have to pay the fine.
