Air Asia fined for carrying Covid positive passenger
Airlines agency Air Asia has been fined by the authorities of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) Malaysia-based budget airlines Air Asia Tk 1 lakh for carrying a Covid-19 positive passenger.
The passenger landed at the HSIA with a coronavirus positive certificate is a migrant worker, said Ahmed Jamil, an executive magistrate at the airport.
He has been referred to a hospital for treatment.
The passenger came by an Air Asia flight from Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur around 11:56pm on Saturday.
His sample was tested at a Malaysian laboratory. The passenger came to know about his coronavirus infection only after boarding the aircraft when other passengers informed him.
Nobody intercepted him at the immigration of Kuala Lumpur Airport and the expatriate can easily reached the country, said Ahmed Jamil.
