OC Pradip, 14 others chargesheeted on Sinha murder
15 persons including suspended OC Pradeep Kumar in Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case , Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday submitted the charge-sheet to the high court.
The chargesheet was submitted before the court of senior magistrate Tamanna Farah in Cox’s Bazar by RAB-15 officer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Khairul Alam, also the investigation officer, this morning.
The ASP said 14, out of the 15 chargesheeted accused, are in jail while police constable Sagar has been absconding.
From the report, it is learnt that suspended OC Pradeep was the mastermind of Major (Retd) Sinha murder and SI Liakat was the killer.
The chargesheet was submitted after investigating the case for more than four months.
Meanwhile, IO assistant superintendent of Police Bimal Chandra Karmaker submitted the final report of two drug cases filed against Shahedul Islam Sifat and Shipra Debnath, who accompanied slain Major (Retd) Sinha.
On July 31night, Major (Retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at a checkpost at Shamlapur area under Baharchhara union along the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive.
His sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a case on August 5 where she made Baharchhara Investigation Centre’s Inspector Liakat Ali as prime accused and Teknaf Police Station OC as the accused number two.
Besides, seven more policemen were made accused in the case.
