Biggest drug supplies caught in a single day
Detectives in a raid detained two suspected smugglers with the biggest ever haul of 14 lakh Yaba pills in Sadar upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday afternoon.
During the drive conducted in Choufaldandi ghat around 2:30pm, the DB members also seized a trawler used in the smuggling.
The detainees are: Jahirul Islam, 37, son of Nazrul Islam; and Md Babu, 55, from Uttar Nuniarchhara under Cox’s Bazar pourasava.
M Hasanuzzaman, superintendent of Cox’s Bazar Police, said this is the highest ever haul of the contraband tablets.
