Police dismante BNP’s peaceful movement
Police on Sunday foiled a protest procession brought out by Panchagarh district unit BNP protesting the government’s decision to strip former President Ziaur Rahman’s gallantry title of ‘Bir Uttam’.
The BNP brought out the procession from its district office this noon. But the law enforcers obstructed them, alleged the party leaders.
Being obstructed, the leaders and activists of the BNP took position in front of the party office where they held a rally.
The district unit BNP member secretary and central executive committee member Farhad Hossain Azad, joint convener MA Majid, the district unit Jubo Dal member secretary Nuruzzaman Babu, the district unit Chhatra Dal president Abdul Quader Masum, general secretary Moniruzzaman Manik, among others, spoke at the programme.
They condemned and outraged over the police attack on their peaceful programme.
