Veteran actor ATM shamsuzzaman dies
He was buried beside his eldest son Quamruzzaman Kabir’s grave after Zohr prayers.
The noted actor breathed his last at his Sutrapur residence in Old Dhaka on Saturday morning after his oxygen level had gone down and he had been facing acute shortness of breath.
The actor had been suffering from breathing difficulties due to Asthma and other health complications for the last couple of days.
ATM Shamsuzzaman was admitted to Asgar Ali Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday last. After two days of treatment, he was taken to his residence at Sutrapur from the hospital on Friday afternoon.
His daughter Koel Ahmed said her father’s physical condition was improving, but he died later at night after he was shifted to his residence.
His legendary acting career started in 1965. He earned his big name as an antagonist in Amjad Hossain’s film ‘Nayanmoni’ (1976).
