Proposal passed to purchase 30,000MT urea
PBC News: The Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase has approved four proposals, including the procurement of 30,000 metric tons (MT) of bagged granular urea fertiliser from Karnaphuli Fertiliser Company Ltd (Kafco) at a cost of Tk 90.72 crore, reports UNB.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal presided over the cabinet body meeting.
As per the proposal, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), under the Ministry of Industries, will make the bulk purchase of the urea fertiliser at a rate of $356 per MT, calculating 1 US dollar equivalent to Tk 84.95.
Two other proposals placed by the Public Works Department (PWD) also received the committee body nod.
Of these, PWD will award Tk 89.17 crore contract to joint venture of 1. Ataur Rahman Khan Ltd, and Mahbub Brothers Pvt. Ltd, to carry out the expansion and works of some other civil constructions at Bangladesh Folk Art and Crafts Foundation at Sonargaon Museum.
In another PWD proposal, the joint venture of 1. Taher Brothers Ltd, and 2. Hossain Construction Pvt Ltd, won Tk 80.75 crore contract to carry out the remaining construction works of National Board of Revenue (NBR) building.
Roads and Highway Department (RHD) received the cabinet body nod to get a contract of Tk 180.09 crore to implement the improvement and widening of district highway from Keraniganj to Hashara in Munshiganj, Dhaka.
