PBC News: A Bangladeshi man was sentenced to two months in jail for offering bribe to Malaysia police. According to the prosecution, furniture shop worker Md Jahir and his friend went to a shopping complex to buy headphone.
Police spotted Jahir with his face mask pulled under his chin, which is a violation of the standard operating procedure (SOP) when in crowded public places.

Police detained Jahir and his friend.
Later, Jahir, through his friend, offered RM 150 to one of the policemen in the car for his release.
Jahir pleaded guilty to the offence under Section 17 (b) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, according to a report by The Star.
Sessions judge Ahmad Azhari Abdul Hamid on Wednesday ordered Jahir to serve the jail sentence from his date of conviction.
Local expatriates, on condition of anonymity, said seeking bribes by Malaysia police is not new.
They also alleged that even a few days ago, police used to take money from legal and illegal immigrants on the pretexts of various charges.
