পিবিসি টুয়েন্টিফোর ডটকমঃ ২৯ শে ডিসেম্বরের গনতন্ত্র অভিযাত্রাকে কেন্দ্র করে বিএনপি চেয়ারপার্সন দেশনেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার ব্যক্তিগত নিরাপত্তা প্রত্যাহার করে বর্তমান সরকার যে নগ্ন চেহারা উম্মোচিত করেছেন তাঁর প্রতিবাদে তাৎক্ষনিকভাবে জাতিসংঘ প্রধান কার্যালয়ের সামনে বিক্ষোভ প্রদর্শন করেছেন বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল ও তাঁর অঙ্গসংগঠনের নেতৃবৃন্দ।

গত ২৮শে ডিসেম্বর নিউইয়র্কের স্থানীয় সময় দুপুর ৩টা থেকে বিকেল ৫টা পর্যন্ত চলা বিক্ষোভ সমাবেশে বেগম জিয়ার উপদেষ্টা ডাঃ মজিবর রহমান মজুমদার আওয়ামী বাকশলীদের সকল ষড়যন্ত্র মোকাবেলা করতে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল বিএনপির নেতাকর্মীকে ঐক্যবদ্ধভাবে আন্দোলনে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ার আহবান জানান।

অপরদিকে খালেদা জিয়া বা তারেক রহমানের প্রতি নতুন কোন ষড়যন্তের জাল বুনা হলে তাঁর দাত ভাঙ্গা জবাব দেয়ার হুসিয়ারী ব্যক্ত করেছেন খালেদা জিয়ার আরেক উপদেষ্টা জাহিদ এফ সরদার সাদী।
এদিকে গনতন্ত্র অভিযাত্রা ও শেখ হাসিনার পদত্যাগ দাবীতে সন্ধ্যা ৫টা থেকে শুরু হয় জ্যাকসন হাইটসের প্রানকেন্দ্র ৭৩ ষ্ট্রীট ও ব্রোডয়ের কর্নারে আরেকটি বিশাল বি্ক্ষোভ সমবেশ। যুক্তরাষ্ট্র বিএনপির এই বিক্ষোভ সমাবেশ থেকে সময় থাকতে শেখ হাসিনা সরকারকে বিদায় নেয়ার আহবান জানিয়েছেন বিএনপি নেতা আব্দুল লতিফ সম্রাট, গিয়াস আহাম্মেদ, জিল্লুর রহমান জিল্লু, আশ্রাফ উদ্দিন ঠাকুর, আবু সাঈদ আহাম্মেদ, আতাউর রহমান আতা সহ অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দ অন্যথায় বাকশালী এই সরকারকে ক্ষমা করা হবে না বলে হুসিয়ারী দেয়া হয়েছে।
