Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid passed the order on Wednesday.
Earlier, police produced him before the court seeking seven days’ remand.
Police arrested Akhter from Shahbagh Police Station area on Tuesday night.
On March 25, police detained one Abul Kalam Azad from an anti-Modi demonstration at Motijheel in the capital.
Leaders and activists of Chhatra and Jubo Adhikar Parishad snatched away Azad from police when he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
Raihan Kabir, sub-inspector of Paltan Model Police Station, lodged a case with Shahbagh Police Station in this connection.
A total of 10 people, including Chhatra Adhikar Parishad acting convenor Rashed Khan, joint convenor Faruk Hasan, Dhaka University unit former president Bin Yamin Molla, incumbent president and former DUCSU social service affairs secretary Akhter Hossain, were made accused in the case.
