Mamunul was arrested upon ‘clear evidence’: Police
PBC News: Police have claimed that the arrest of Hefazat-e Islam’s central joint secretary general Mamunul Huque was made ‘based on clear evidence’.
Harun-or-Rashid, deputy commissioner of Tejgaon Division Police said this in a press conference on Sunday, after the arrest of the Hefazat leader.
Detectives nabbed him from Jamia Rahmania Arabia Madrasa in city’s Mohammadpur area around 12:50pm today.

“You’ve recently witnessed the nationwide violence carried out by Hefazat. Different government establishments including police station have been vandalised. Moreover, we’re investigating a violence case lodged with Mohammadpur Police Station. We’ve confirmed about Mamunul’s involvement in that case. Mamunul also admitted,” said DC Harun.
He also said that the case was lodged in 2020 and Mamunul is an FIR listed accused in that case.
He said police arrested Mamunul easily without facing any obstacle from his party men.
