Russia seeks $9.95 for each dose of Sputnik-V vaccine
PBC News: Russia has sought US$9.95 from Bangladesh for each dose of Sputnik-V vaccine.
No deal has so far been signed between the two countries to purchase vaccine. But, the Bangladesh government thinks that the Russian authorities have sought excessive price for the Sputnik-V vaccine. The government has already sent a letter to the Russian authorities to lower the price, said officials at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A senior official at the Ministry of Health said, “We gave a proposal for talks to fix the price of Sputnik-V vaccine. However, the price of two doses of Sputnik-V vaccine is lower than that of one dose of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.”
In its proposal, the Bangladesh government also mentioned that the Russian government will have to bear the responsibility if they fails to supply the vaccine in time.
Earlier, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said the price of each dose of Sputnik-V vaccine is about 10 US dollar. “We will try to sign the agreement with the Russian authorities as soon as possible,” he said.
The government has also approved, in principle, to produce Sputnik-V vaccine by local manufacturers of the country.
