He joined the ceremony via video conferencing from his official residence.
He said the BNP had succeeded in maintaining a safe distance without going to the people affected by the cyclone.
Obaidul Quader thanked the BNP for putting forward 24-point thoughts on the forthcoming budget in the midst of negative political practices.

Mentioning that the Sheikh Hasina government had to deal with the impact of corona infection like many other countries in the implementation of the last budget, the General Secretary of Awami League said that the government has kept the wheel of economy in motion by combining life and livelihood very efficiently.
He also said that the import-export trade and production system has also been kept active and dynamic.
Obaidul Quader said the government has done a challenging job of increasing domestic production as well as keeping the wheel of revenue in motion and the per capita income has increased to $2,227.
He complained that the BNP general secretary does not talk about the capacity of the country’s economy in terms of growth, reserve expansion, etc., and does not speak of any real achievement.
Obaidul Quader believes that the forthcoming budget will be a unique combination of multi-dimensional plans to address the crisis in addition to meeting the expectations of the people to move the economy forward.
