LSD trading: 5 varsity students placed on 5-day remand

PBC News:  A Dhaka court placed five university students on a five-day remand each in a case filed for trading and taking lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) drug.Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atikul Islam passed the order on Monday.

Earlier,r Investigation Officer Badrul Al Amin, also a sub-inspector of Khilgaon Police Station, produced them before the court seeking 10 days’ remand for them, court sources said.

Police have arrested Saiful, Anan and Sakib from Khilgaon community centre area around 10:30pm on Saturday alongwith 5 LSD mixed blotting paper and 50 grams hemp.

Acting on their information, police arrested Nazmul and Salekin from Baridhara Choudhury Lounge under Bhatara Police Station.Four LSD mixed blotting paper and mobile phone were seized during the raid.

DMP’s Motijheel zone DC Abdul Ahad said during interrogation, the arrested students confessed their involvement in selling and using the drug for last one year.

They also informed that there are 15 groups in the capital who involved in selling LSD.
