Bangladesh to start administering Pfizer vaccine Monday
PBC News: The Directorate of Health has said Pfizer vaccination programme will be started across the country from Monday.
Three hospitals–Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, Sheikh Russel National Gastroliver Institute and Hospital and Kurmitola General Hospital–in the capital will administer the vaccine to 120 people at each hospitals daily.
Only registered people, who failed to get the vaccine dose first time despite registration, will receive this from 9am-3pm, said Dr Shamsul Islam, official of the Directorate of Health.
Those who will receive the vaccine, will be kept under observation for seven to ten days.
Over 1 lakh doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Bangladesh as part of the global vaccine initiative COVAX on May 31.
