Protests, vandalism at Jashore Child Development Centre
PBC News: Inmates at Jashore Child Development Centre have again staged protests and vandalised for around three hours.
The situation was brought under control around 1 am on Sunday with the presence of deputy commissioner and additional district magistrate.
Additional District Magistrate Kazi Sayemuzzaman said there are 248 inmates against its capacity of 150 beds.
There was dissatisfaction among the inmates with several issues including of foods.

The inmates began protest around 10:30 pm on Saturday and started vandalism at one point.
Later, ansar and police members brought the situation under control.
On August 13, 2020, three youths were killed and 15 others injured at the government facility in another incident.
Although the committees have been formed several times but the recommendations of the committees have not been implemented.
As a result, such incidents have been taking place in the centre again and again.
