Nasrullah Ibne Hakim, who has been appointed as first train driver under the Metro Rail project, said there will be four doors on both sides of each coach of the trains. The doors of one side will get open after train reaches the stations.
Sources concerned said each Metro Rail Station would have three levels. There will be ticket counters on the Level-2. After collecting tickets from the counters, passengers will go to the Level-3 by escalator. There will be chairs for passengers to sit on. Passengers will get on board the train after its arrival at the station.
Meanwhile, sources at the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said two sets of Metro Rail compartments have been unloaded to four barges at Mongla Port. The Metro Train sets are likely to arrive by barges after completion of duty and VAT related procedures on the third week of August at the DMTCL depot at Uttara in Dhaka.
DMTCL managing director MNN Siddique said construction of Metro Rail is going on following health guidelines. Experiments with two metro trains are now being conducted inside the depot.
