Viqarunnisa principal’s phone conversation reprehensible: HC
PBC News: High Court has said if the phone convesation of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College principal Kamrun Nahar that got viral, were true, it was reprehensible.
At the same time, the High Court has directed to submit the report of the inquiry committee formed against the principal by the Ministry of Education within the August 30 next.
A virtual High Court bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman delivered the directive on Tuesday (August 10).
During the hearing on the writ petition, the High Court bench said: “If the language used by Viqarunnisa Noon School and College principal Kamrun Nahar in her phone conversation is true, it is certainly reprehensible. It is undesirable. Use of such a language was unexpected from her.”
A student’s guardian named Mohammad Morshed Alam filed the writ petition on Sunday.
Advocate Abdullah Al Harun Russel held the hearing on the writ petition.
A writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking directions to dismiss Viqarunnisa Noon School and College principal Kamrun Nahar over her viral call record.
In the writ petition, the principal has been asked to resign from the post on the charge of moral turpitude or immorality.
At the same time, the petition asks why the inaction of the defendants in taking departmental action against her should not be considered illegal.
Earlier, Moniruzzaman Khokon, a member of the governing body of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, had a phone conversation with Kamrun Nahar, principal of the institution.
The phone conversation was leaked on social media on July 26 following the leak of the principal’s phone conversation with Mir Sahabuddin Tipu, advisor of the parents’ forum.
