Female TV anchor interviews Taliban official in Kabul
PBC News: In what was unthinkable when Taliban last ruled Afghanistan from 1996-2001, a female anchor from ToloNews has interviewed a senior Taliban official in the studio.
TOLONews, one of Afghanistan’s major media outlets, has resumed its broadcast with female anchors today.
“Our female presenter is interviewing a Taliban media team member live in our studio,” Miraqa Popal, head of TOLONews, has tweeted, showing a female presenter interviewing a Taliban media team member live in the studio.
In this image, host Beheshta Arghand interviews Mawlawi Abdulhaq Hemad, a close member of the Taliban’s media team, about Kabul’s situation and house-to-house searches in the city.
