Man beaten dead, 10 workers of Padma Bridge Project held
PBC News: Security guards and workers of Padma Bridge project allegedly beat a man to death on Friday morning suspecting him of being a thief.
Deceased Julhas Hawlader,35, son of later Hasasn Hawlader of Kumarbhog, was an auto-rickshaw driver.
Meanwhile, police detained 10 persons in connection of the incident, reports a Bangla news portal.
They are Selim, Rabbi, Tapu, Al Amin, Arif, Abdul Mannan, Israfil, Rubel and Shanto. They all are working in the Padma Bridge Project.
The victim’s relatives said on information they went to the project area adjacent to Mawa intersection in Lauhajang of Munshiganj around 6am and found 10/12 people were beating Julhas with iron rods tying up his hands and legs.
Julhas was rescued and taken to Shreenagar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.Louhajang police OC Alamgir Hossain said 10 people were detained in connection with the killing.
