Suspected female member of Ansar Al Islam held
PBC News: DMP’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) has arrested a suspected female member of banned militant group Ansar Al Islam for the first time.
Arrested Jobaida Siddika Nabila,19, is a candidate of HSC examination. Police arrested Nabila from Badda in the capital on August 26.
But, Jobaida turned down the proposal expressing her desire to embrace martyrdom.
During initial interrogation, the girl informed that she opened a fake facebook account in 2020 and joined Ansar Al Islam’s official facebook page “Titumir Media’.
She then started studying different writings, videos ad audios of the extremist group.
Later, she contacted the page’s admin who gave the girl the links of the official website of Ansar Al Islam.
Using the links, Jobaida started enetering the group’s official website. Since then, she used to strictly following the extremist ideology and chose online media platform to spread he ideology.
Jobaida maintained a number of accounts on facebook, Telegram and ChirpWire to disseminate extremist contents.
She used to operate more than 15 channels in her accounts, followed by over 25,000 accounts.
