Khandaker Moshtaque’s village home attacked
PBC News: The village home of Khandaker Moshtaque Ahmed, conspirator of the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, came under attack on Tuesday morning.
The attackers hurled brick-bats at the house of Moshtaque at village Dashpara under Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla district at about 11:30am.
Daudkandi Upazila Awami League organised a programme to demanding to confiscating the property of Khandaker Moshtaque.
The leaders and activists of ruling party also besieged his Dashpara house and expressed hatred toward Moshtaque’s portrait.
During the programme, the leaders and activists went to Moshtaque’s house premises chanting slogans and damaged the house hurling brick-bats. They also burnt an effigy of Moshtaque at his house premises.
It is learnt that Daudkandi Upazila Awami League has been demanding removal of Moshtaque’s grave along with confiscating his property and trying him posthumously. None of Moshtaque’s family lives in the house. However, imam of a local mosque lives in a room. He was not at home during the incident of attack.
Mohammad Ali Sumon, organiser of the programme and Daudkandi Upazila Parishad chairman, said no attack was carried out at Moshtaque’s house. “I stopped some youths when they tried to launch attack on the house being agitated,” he said.
