Anisul appointed new IG Prisons, replacing Mamun

PBC News: The government has appointed Brigadier General ASM Anisul Huque as the new Inspector General of Prisons. He is now working as the Dean of Security and Strategic Studies at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Thursday placing the service of Brigadier General ASM Anisul Huque under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

On the other hand, present IG (Prisons) Brigadier General Md Mominur Rahman Mamun’s service has been placed under the Armed Forces Division for shifting him to the Bangladesh Army.

There were rumours that Brigadier General Md Mominur Rahman Mamun would return to army.

Md Mominur Rahman Mamun was appointed as the new IG of Prisons by the government on September 23, 2020.

Earlier, Brig Gen Mominur Rahman Mamun served as the chief health officer of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
