Mohibullah killing: Two more Rohingyas held
PBC News: Two more Rohingya people have been arrested on their suspicion involvement in the killing of top Rohingya leader Mohammad Mohibullah at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar on September 29.
Ziaur Rahman and Abdus Salam were arrested by Armed Police Battalion (APBn) personnel during a drive at Kutupalong Rohingya Camp under Ukhiya upazila on Friday night.
On Friday noon, the APBn members arrested another Rohinya man named Md Selim alias Lomba Selim, 26, from Ukhiya camp.
Later, he was handed over to Ukhikya Police Station, said the SP.
Earlier on Thursday night, Rohingya leader Mohibullah’s younger brother Habibullah filed a case at Ukhiya Police Station in Cox’s Bazar.
A FIR for murder was filed against unknown persons at the Ukhiya Police Station on a complaint from Mohibullah’s brother Habibullah, said officer-in-charge Manzur Morshed.
Unknown assailants gunned down Mohibullah on September 29 (Wednesday). He was first rushed to a local medical facility and later shifted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
He was buried in Lombasia Camp-1 in Ukhiya upazila on Thursday evening after his namaz-e-janaza, which was attended by a large number of Rohingya refugees from camps in Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas.
