Case petition against DNCC mayor Atiqul rejected

PBC News: A tribunal in Dhaka on Tuesday rejected a case petition filed against Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam under Digital Security Act.

Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Mohammad As Shams Jaglul Hossain rejected the plea as there was no strong issue for accepting the petition.

Md Abdur Rahim, founder of the Bhashantek Rehabilitation Project, filed the case petition Tuesday morning.

Shamim Al Mamun, bench clerk of the tribunal, confirmed the dismissal of the plea.

According to the case statement, Atiqul forcibly possessed the property of the plaintiff. Then published false,offensive, and defamatory information about the plaintiff and his family through various media using the digital devices.
