ACC sends letters seeking transport leader Enayet Ullah’s wealth info
PBC News: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent letters to more than one hundred state-owned and private entities including 58 banks seeking the necessary documents of the wealth of Dhaka Sarak Paribahan Malik Samity general secretary and ENA Paribahan’s managing director Enayet Ullah.
The letters sent to 58 state-owned and private banks, 30 financial institutions, BRTA chairman, Department of Registration, National Savings Directorate, Postal Department, five city corporations including Dhaka and Chattogram, Mymensingh and Cox’s Bazar municipalities, and Directorate National Housing seeking to provide details statements of wealth of Enayet Ullah, his wife and children.
ACC’s investigation officer and deputy director Mohammad Faisal sent the letters from the ACC head office on October 25 last to scrutinise the details of wealth.
There are allegations that Enayet Ullah realises subscription of Tk 1.65 crore from the buses and minibuses plying in the Dhaka city and adjoining areas every day.
Earlier on June 14, the ACC sent a notice to Enayet Ullah seeking his and family members’ wealth information after evidence of accumulating illegal wealth was found against him. Then in October, Enayet Ullah submitted his wealth information to ACC Secretary Md Anwar Hossain Howlader. The ACC then appointed Mohammad Faisal as investigation officer to scrutinise the documents related to Enayet Ullah’s wealth.
The anti-graft watchdog launched an investigation against Enayet Ullah’s wealth in January 2020 after allegations of accumulating illegal wealth including subscription worth more than Tk 100 crore were surfaced against him.
Earlier, the ACC’s deputy director and investigation officer Nurul Huda sent letters to different government departments including the BRTA seeking information about Enayet Ullah.
