Home Minister pays respects to martyred police members
PBC News: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has paid tributes to the brave police members who valiantly fought for the independence of Bangladesh.
He paid respect placing wreath at Rajarbagh Police Lines Monument at 8:30am on Thursday on the occasion of Victory Day.
Mostofa Kamal Uddin, Senior Secretary to the Public Safety Department of the Home Ministry, Inspector General of Police (IGP), and other senior police officials were present.
The home minister was followed by DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam, Additional Inspector General of Special Branch and Bangladesh Police Service Association’s president Md Monirul Islam, and leaders of Bangladesh Police Women Network who also placed floral wreaths at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Monument.
Everyone present stood in solemn silence remembering the supreme sacrifices of martyred police members while the bugle played.
Police had formed the first armed resistance against the Pakistan forces on March 25, 1971 during the attack on the Rajarbagh Police Lines.
