Joynal Hazari’s first janaza held at Baitul Mukarram
PBC News: The first namaz-e-janaza for Joynal Hazari was held at Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Dhaka at 10am on Tuesday.
Awami League leaders and people from all walks of life joined the funeral prayers.
Hazari, an advisory council member of the ruling party and also a former lawmaker from Feni, breathed his last around 5:25pm at LabAid Hospital on Monday.
The 75-year-old political leader was admitted to the hospital on December 15 with lung infections, cardiac and kidney problems.
After the janaza in Dhaka, the body was taken to Feni for the second one.
Joynal Hazari will be laid to eternal rest at Mujib Uddayan, adjacent to his Masterpara residence in Feni town later on the day.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed their deep condolences at the death of heroic freedom fighter Joynal Hazari.
Born on August 24, 1945 in Feni, Joynal Hazari was Feni district Awami League general secretary from 1984 to 2004. He was elected lawmaker with Awami League ticket from Feni-2 constituency in 1986, 1991 and 1996.
He was also general secretary of greater Noakhali district unit of Chhatra League, the student wing of Awami League.
