Madrasa fully burnt down in Hathazari fire
PBC News: A local madrasa in Chattogram’s Hathazari upazila was fully burnt down in a devastating fire that broke out at early hours of Wednesday.
Mawlana Osman Gani, founder and director of Talimul Quran Nurani Madrasa, said the fire originated at the madrasa under Fatehpur union at about 2am. Locals tried to douse the blaze. But it soon engulfed the entire tin-shed madrasa.
On information, fire fighting units rushed to the scene and brought the fire under their control.
After the incident, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Shahidul Alam visited the spot and instantly gave 10 blankets to the founder of the madrasa.
He also assured him of giving all sorts of assistance.
The damage from the fire is estimated around Tk 2 lakh, including 70,000 books of the students.
Among others, newly-elected chairman Jaynal Abedin, UP member Alamgir Bhutta, elected member Akmal Hossain were present there.
