Chattogram University student found hanging at cottage room
PBC News: A student of Chattogram University (CU) has been found dead at a cottage adjacent to the campus.
Police recovered the body from S Alam cottage’s room no 212 around 1pm on Monday.
Deceased Anik Chakma was a second year student of Marine Science and Fisheries Institute. He hailed from Rangamati district.
The residents of the same cottage said Anik went to his room on Sunday night. He was alone as his friend went to village home.
After receiving information, a team of CU proctorial body members and police rushed to the scene and recovered the body at about 1:20pm breaking open the door of the room.
Chattogram University police outpost in-charge Md Kabir said, “We recovered the body of the student hanging from a celing fan. After autopsy report, it will be confirmed whether it was suicide or murder. But in primary investigation, it is assumed that the student might have committed suicide.”
A several-page suicide not was found beside the body, the police official said.
It was learnt that Anik was taking preparation for examination which was scheduled to begin from January 6
