I won’t let you get Boat symbol again: Nanak tells Shamim Osman

PBC News:  Hinting at AKM Shamim Osman MP of Narayanganj-4 constituency, Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak has said, “You (Shamim Osman) became MP as Sheikh Hasina allocated you ‘Boat’ symbol. Now, you’re opposing Sheikh Hasina’s candidate. As long as I remain alive, I won’t let you get ‘Boat’ symbol again.”

Nanak made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a workers’ rally at Kobiler Mor area under Ward No. 23 of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) on Friday afternoon.

Though the rally was termed as a workers’ rally, it was, in fact, a part of the election campaign in favour of Awami League candidate Dr Selina Hayat Ivy. Though the presence of the MPs are restricted during the election campaign, the rally was attended by two lawmakers of the ruling Awami League.

Nanak said, “None would be spared if they get involve in any conspiracy. I see my Jatiya Party friends in different characters and faces here in Narayanganj.”

He said, “You the voters of Narayanganj would decide your fate in the upcoming Janauary 16 election. Your decision will determine how the next five years will be. Sheikh Hasina has conveyed her greetings to you all.”

Upazila Awami League president MA Rashid presided over the rally. It was also addressed by AL central presidium member Abdur Rahman, organising secretary Ahmad Hossain, SM Kamal Hossain, Sujit Roy Nandi and district AL president Abdul Hye, among others.
