SC decides to run judicial work virtually

PBC News:  The Supreme Court (SC) is returning again to virtual hearings from tomorrow due to a further rise in Covid-19 infections in the country.

Both the Appellate Division and the High Court Division will return to virtual judicial work from tomorrow, said a notice signed by SC Registrar General Md Ali Akhbar.According to the notice, issued as per the directive of Chief Justice, all benches of the Appellate Division and the High Court Division will use information technology and follow practice guidance in conducting judicial work from tomorrow.

Earlier in the day, Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique hinted that proceedings might be conducted virtually as several judges and staff have been infected with Covid-19.
