Three killed in truck, three-wheeler collision in Rajbari
PBC News: Three persons have been killed in a collision between a truck and battery-operated three-wheeler (Mahendra) at Kalyanpur of Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway.
The accident happened at about 3:30pm on Thursday.
The dead were identified as Mahendra driver Md Sujon Sheikh, 34, son of Abdur Rashid of Nabuosimuddin Para area under Goalund upazila; Mahendra’s passengers Momin, hailed from Sadar upazila in Rajbari district; and Saiful, hailed from village Kamaldia under Madhukhali upazila.
Locals and police sources said a Rajbari-bound truck coming from Faridpur collided head-on with a Goalund-bound Mahendra coming from Rajbari at Kalyanpur area on Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway, leaving two persons including Mahendra’s driver Sujon critically injured.
Rescuing the injured, the locals sent the injured to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical College and Hospital in Faridpur where they succumbed later on.
Ahladipur High Police Station’s OC Delwar Hossain said a police team was sent to the place of accident after receiving information. According to the latest information, Mahendra driver Sujon and two other passengers died in the accident.
