Judgement on writ against E-orange Wednesday
PBC News: The High Court (HC) on Tuesday set April 6 to pass its judgement on a writ petition seeking to refund and proper investigation into the embezzlement case filed by 547 customers against e-commerce platform “E-orange”.
A High Court Division bench comprising of Justice M. Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order setting the date today, BSS reports.
Senior Lawyer Ahsanul Karim and Barrister M Abdul Quayyum stood for the petitioners while Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin represented the state.
On April 3, the writ petition was filed.
Secretary of Ministry of Commerce, Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Inspector General of Police (IGP) of head of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), Patron of E-orange Sheikh Sohel Rana, Proprietor of E-orange Sonia Mahjabin and Owner of E-orange Bithi Akter have been made respondents in the petition.
