Natore bus collision death toll rises to 7
Besides, 20 more passengers were injured in the accident.
Natore police super Liton Kumar Saha stated it while talking to reporters on Saturday.
He said the deadly accident happened between a National Travel Paribahan passenger bus coming from Dhaka and another Dhaka-bound Siam Paribahan passenger bus on Saturday morning.
Two of the dead were identified as Kawsar Ahmed, 20, son of Shahjahan Ali of village Paiker Dol under Natore Sadar upazila and his sister Sadia Khatun, 15.
Superintendent of Bogura Highway Police Munshi Shahab Uddin said the accident happened at about 11.15am on Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway near Patwari Filling Station when a Rajshahi-bound ‘National Travel Paribahan’ bus collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound ‘Siam Paribahan’ bus coming from the opposite direction.
The accident left six people dead, four were the passengers of the National Travel Paribahan and two were of Siam Paribahan, on the spot and 15 others injured.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals and clinics. “Of the injured, a woman succumbed to her injuries at a clinic in Bonpara area later on.”
