Fuel oil crisis hits Kurigram
PBC News: The fuel oil crisis has hit the filling stations in Kurigram’s Bhurungamari upazila as buyers are suffering from an acute shortage of petrol and octane.
Many buyers alleged that some unscrupulous retailers are selling petrol and octane at extreme prices.
The crisis raised after the only supplying company ‘M/s Saha Filling Station” ran out of its stock before Eid day ( May 2).
Taking this advantage, some retailers are selling petrol at Tk 150 and octane at Tk 200, buyers said.
Motorcyclist Aminur Rahman said he went to adjoining upazila without getting fuel in Bhurungamari, but he did not get petrol or octane anywhere.
Retailer Manik said they are to buy fuel at extra prices now. That’s why, they are to sell those at extra prices, our local correspondent reports.
