AL supports dialogue on participatory polls: Hanif
PBC News: Awami League’s Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif has said that their party will support holding dialogue with all political parties to make the next parliamentary elections participatory.
He made the remarks at a discussion titled “Upcoming elections, Political crisis and Ways to overcome it” organized at Dhaka Reporters Unity in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Hanif said the next parliamentary elections will be held in accordance with the constitution.
He expressed hope that their party believes that the next elections will be participatory.
About BNP’s stance on next general elections, Hanif said, “BNP is now talking much about elections as they are not getting any issue to stage anti-government movement. They are bargaining to take the advantage. They want to heat up the environment centering election.”
He said there is political culture in this country is that those who become defeated in elections they do not accept the result.
Hanif said, “Bangladesh will never be like Sri Lanka. There is nothing to worry about the economic situation.”
