Trader hoards 1,000 metric tons of rice: Fined Tk 1.5 lakh
PBC News: A mobile court on Wednesday fined Tk 1.5 lakh to a trader for illegally hoarding rice at Singra upazila in Natore district.
The mobile court, led by executive magistrate Al Imran, imposed the fine to Messrs N Mani and Brothers owner Nirendranath Mani.
Acting on a tip-off, the mobile court conducted a raid at the shop in Kolom Bazar and found around 1,000 metric tonnes of rice hoarded in its three godowns, said Al Imran.
He said they fined the trader and directed to sell the rice within three days.
Natore district food controller (Acting) Harun Ar Rashid, Sadar upazila food warehouse officer in-charge Mizanur Rahman Sikder and others were present at that time.
