Weeklong COVID booster drive begins, target over 1 crore people

PBC News: Weeklong COVID-19 vaccine booster dose began across the country in16,181 centres from Saturday (June 4)

All citizens aged 18 and above will be able to take the third dose or booster dose.

The campaign will go on till June 10.

The government has taken this initiative to cover over one crore people though nearly four crore citizens are waiting to get the booster dose, said Dr Shamsul Huque, director of the Corona Vaccination Campaign of the Health Services Division.

Vaccine-takers can take the booster doses at the nearest vaccination centre on any of these seven days. Vaccination started from 9:00am.

The vaccine card must be taken with people to get the third dose.

In addition to the booster dose, general coronavirus vaccine will continue to be routinely administered, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
