Jamuna flows above danger level in Sirajganj
The water level in Sirajganj Hardpoint area was recorded at 13.68 meters on Monday morning. It has risen by 21 cm in 24 hours and is flowing 33 cm above the danger level.
On the other hand, the water of Jamuna has been recorded 15.62 meters at Kazipur Meghai Point. It has risen by 15 cm in 24 hours and is flowing over 37 cm above danger level.
Sirajganj Water Development Board Deputy Assistant Engineer Zakir Hossain confirmed the matter on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, vast remote areas in Kazipur, Sirajganj, Belkuchi, Chowhali and Shahjadpur have been inundated and the flood situation has deteriorated.
Shafiqul Islam, executive engineer of Sirajganj Water Development Board, said that the water level in Jamuna may continue to increase for next three to four days.
