Bangladeshi school boy shot dead by Indian BSF along Dinajpur border
The deceased Minhazul Islam Minar was the son of Jahangir Hossain and a Class IX student of local Khanpur High School under Sadar upazila, said Khanpur union chairman Abu Bakar Siddique.
The missing people are Emdadul, 28, son of Latiful, and Sagor, 20, son of Salman, residents of the same area.
Locals alleged that the BSF personnel opened fire when Minar along with 8 to 10 others went near Pillar No. 315 on Daimur border point on Wednesday night. Bullet-ridden Minar died on the spot. Later, the BSF took his body inside India. about five people crossed into India through the border to bring dried fish. They were spotted by a patrol team of BSF while returning to Bangladesh.
Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station OC Tanveerul Islam said on Thursday afternoon that the dead body was taken away by the BSF. BSF said they would return the body through the BGB after postmortem.
Nayek Subedar Akhter Hossain of Dainur border outpost under Dinajpur’s Fulbari-29 BGB Battalion said they sent a letter to the BSF. Preparation of a flag meeting goes on. Deceased Minar’s body is lying at Teliapara of South Dinajpur of India.
