Rajshahi BCL president, secretary expelled
PBC News: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has permanently expelled its Rajshahi district unit president Sakibul Islam Rana and general secretary Zakir Hossain Omi from the organisation.
At the same time, the district unit committee has been dissolved.
The decision was announced through a press release signed by BCL president Al-Nahian Khan Joy and general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee on Thursday.
Sakibul Islam Rana and Zakir Hossain Omi have been expelled from Bangladesh Chhatra League due to moral degradation, said the press release.
It was learnt that expelled Rajshahi district president Rana misbehaved with a female activist of the organisation during a mobile phone conversation with her. An audio clip of this conversation went viral on social media.
Besides, general secretary Omi was accused of consuming phensedyl in public.
The two incidents drew the public attention and crticism after those went viral on social media.
BCL central committee formed a three-member probe body to look into the incidents. The committee found them guilty in the accusations.
