BNP holds rally protesting court order to confiscate properties of Tarique, Zubaida
PBC NEWS DESK: The Dhaka South City BNP on Saturday brought a rally protesting a Dhaka court’s order that asked to confiscate movable and immovable property of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman in a corruption case.
The procession started in front of the BNP central office in Naya Paltan at 12noon.BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy led the procession.
Earlier on January 5, a Dhaka court ordered the confiscation of movable and immovable property of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman in a corruption case.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Md Asaduzzaman passed the order.The court also asked the officer-in-charge of Cantonment Police Station to submit the progress report of the confiscation by January 19.
Earlier on November 1, 2022, a court issued an arrest warrant against them.According to the case description, on September 26, 2007, the ACC lodged the case with Kafrul Police Station for amassing properties worth Tk 4,81,53,561 through illegal means and concealing information in wealth statements.
