BNP, allies hold rallies at 7 places in Dhaka on Saturday
PBC NEWS DESK: BNP and like-minded parties will hold rallies at different places in Dhaka city on Saturday (February 4) to press home their 10-point demands including restoration of democracy and an election-time caretaker government.The parties will announce their next course of action from the rallies.
The BNP said their rally will begin at 2pm at the party’s central office premises at Naya Paltan in the capital.
Party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend the rally as the chief guest.It is also learnt that Ganatantra Mancha will hold its rally in front of Jatiya Press Club, 12-Party Alliance in front of Bijoynagar Water Tank, Jatiyatabadi Like-Minded Alliance on the road opposite to Pritam Bhaban at Purana Paltan and Left Democratic Alliance on the western side of Jatiya Press Club.
The rallies will begin at 11:00am.Besides, Gana Forum and People’s Party will jointly hold rally at 4:00pm on the road opposite to Notre Dame College at Motijheel, while LDP will hold rally at 3:00pm near FDC.
Dhaka City North BNP convener Aman Ullah Aman said, Our rally will be a peaceful one. We will hold rallies to press home our 10-point demands including the government’s resignation, disssolve of parliament, formation of non-party caretaker government etc. Our rally will begin at 2:00pm.
Meanwhile, a press release signed by BNP’s office secretary Syed Emran Saleh Prince on Friday said rallies will be held in nine divisions including Dhaka in Saturday.
Khondker Mosharraf Hossain at Town Hall Maidan in Cumilla, Mirza Abbas at Sona Masjid Crossing in Rajshahi City, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy at Society Crossing in front of City Corporation in Khulna, Abdul Moin Khan at District School Ground in Barishal, Nazrul Islam Khan at the City BNP office premises inChattogram city, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury at Polytechnic Institute Ground in Mymensingh, Selima Rahman at Registrar Ground in Sylhet, Barkat Ullah Bulu at Kamalpur High School ground in Faridpur city, and Mohammad Shahjahan in front of the City BNP office in Rangpur city.
