Jesmine dies of excessive brain haemorrhage, autopsy report says
PBC NEWS DESK: The post-mortem report of Sultana Jesmine, who died in RAB custody in Naogaon on March 24, has been submitted to the High Court.The report was first submitted to the office of attorney general and then to the High Court.
The report states that the 45-year-old Jesmine died of excessive haemorrhage in brain.The report first reached Attorney General’s office and a hearing on the report was held on Tuesday at the High Court bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Ahmed Sohel.
The High Court on Monday sought the post-mortem report and ordered to submit the details of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel involved in arresting and interrogating Jasmine.
RAB picked up Jesmine around 10:00am on Wednesday (March 22) from Muktir More point in Naogaon town when she was on her way to Chandipur Union Land Office.
She was an office assistant there. She was picked up after she came out of her rented house at Janakalyan Mahalla in Naogaon town.She died at 9:00am on Friday (March 24) at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
RAB claimed that there was an allegation of fraud against Jesmine. She was arrested for questioning on the basis of the allegation.
A day after her detention, she was sued under the DSA in Rajshahi “for taking money from job seekers using Facebook account”.On Saturday (March 25) Jesmine’s body was handed to the family.
