সাবেক স্বরাষ্ট্র প্রতিমন্ত্রী লুৎফুজ্জামান বাবর ওমরাহ পালনে সৌদি আরব যাওয়ার পথে হঠাৎ অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন এবং দুবাইয়ের একটি হাসপাতালে জরুরি চিকিৎসা নেন। এমিরেটস এয়ারলাইন্সে শ্বাসকষ্ট হওয়ায় তিনি দুবাইয়ে প্রায় ৮ ঘণ্টা চিকিৎসাধীন ছিলেন। পরে সুস্থ হয়ে তিনি সৌদি আরবের জেদ্দার উদ্দেশে রওনা হন। তার সঙ্গে ছিলেন ছেলে লাবিব বিন জামান ও মৌলভীবাজার জেলা বিএনপির সদস্য সচিব আবদুর রহিম রিপন।
