খরা মৌসুমে তিস্তা নদীর পানি বাড়ছে হঠাৎ করে, ফলে খুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে তিস্তা ব্যারাজের ৬টি জলকপাট। শনিবার, ১৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে পানি প্রবাহ বেড়ে যাওয়ায় কৃষকরা আশঙ্কিত। জেগে থাকা বালুচরে গম, পেঁয়াজ, রসুন সহ অন্যান্য ফসল নষ্ট হওয়ার আশঙ্কা করছেন তারা। তিস্তা পাড়ের মানুষ পানি বৃদ্ধির কারণে ১৭-১৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি অবস্থান কর্মসূচি পালন করছে। ভারত থেকে পানি ছাড়ার ফলে তিস্তা নদীর পানি বৃদ্ধির ঘটনা ঘটেছে।
