Bangladesh whitewashed by West Indies in Test
West Indies beat Bangladesh by 17 runs in the second Test to make a clean sweep of the two-Test series at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.
The hosts were all out for 213 in 61.3 overs in the second innings on the fourth day of the Dhaka Test as they were chasing the target of 231.
The Caribbean spinners divided all the 10 wickets among themselves as Rahkeem Cornwall bagged four wickets while Jomel Warrican and Kraigg Brathwaite both picked up three wickets each.
For Bangladesh, Tamim hit an innings of 50 off 46 balls with nine boundaries and Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 31 runs.
The vising side made 409 and 117 runs in their two innings and Bangladesh were all out for 296 in their first innings.
Earlier, West Indies beat the tigers in the first Test in Chattogram by three wickets.
UNB adds: Bangladesh started with a solid first-wicket stand as Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar added 59 runs.
After Rahkeem Cornwall removed Soumya for 13, the Tigers lost two more wickets before posting 100 runs on the board.
Mominul Haque (26), Mushfiqur Rahim (14), Mohammad Mithun (10) and Liton Das (22) managed to make a good start but they failed to carry on.
